Wrap-Ture Shawl CAL (Video 2 of 2)



In this crochet video tutorial we will do Rows 11-28, then the edging of this beautiful Wrap-ture Shawl.

Row 11: Ch 4, turn, dc in same st, ch 1, [dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc] to center space, (dc, ch 2, dc) in center space, [ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc] to last st, ch 1, (dc, ch 1, dc) in top of beginning ch-3. Rows 12-20: Repeat Rows 2-10. Row 21: Repeat Row 11. Rows 22-28: Repeat Rows 2-8.
FINISHING Weave in ends.


Edging (Right Side): Ch 1, do not turn, 2 sc in same st, working long edge, sc evenly spaced along long edge to opposite corner, 2 sc in corner st, turn to work along side edge, sc evenly to center ch-space, 3 sc in center space, working along opposite side edge, sc evenly to first st, slip st in first st to join. Fasten off.

Wrap-Ture Shawl CAL (Part 1 of 2)



This easy crochet design using a thick yarn is a perfect low-stress project. In this crochet tutorial we'll see how to follow the pattern instructions. We will do Rows 1-10. Part 2 will start with Row 11.

This is a FREE Pattern designed by Edie Eckman and was found on the Red Heart Yarn website.

Shawl measures 63" [160 cm] at widest point x 37" [94 cm] at longest point.


Abbreviations
ch = chain;

cm = centimeters;

dc = double crochet;

mm = millimeters;

st(s) = stitch(es);

sc = single crochet;
[ ] = work directions in brackets the number of times specified; ( ) = work directions in parenthesis the number of times specified.

Ch 5.
Row 1 (Wrong Side): (Dc, ch 1) 4 times in 5th ch from hook (skipped 4 ch count as first dc and ch-1 space), dc in same ch – 6 dc and 5 ch-1 spaces. Place marker in center ch-1 space and move it up to next center space as you work each row.
Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1 here and throughout), turn, [dc in next ch-1 space, ch 1] to marked center space, (dc, ch 2, dc) in center space, ch 1, [dc in next space, ch 1] to last st, dc in 3rd ch of beginning ch-4 – 6 ch-1 spaces and 1 ch-2 corner space.
Rows 3 and 5: Ch 4, turn, [dc in next space, ch 1] to center space, ([dc, ch 1] 3 times, dc) in center space, ch 1, [dc in next space, ch 1] to last st, dc in 3rd ch of beginning ch-4.
Row 4: Ch 4, turn, [dc in next ch-1 space, ch 1] to center space, (dc, ch 2, dc) in center space, ch 1, [dc in next space, ch 1] to last st, dc in 3rd ch of beginning ch-4
Row 6: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), turn, 2 dc in each ch-1 space to center space, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in center space, 2 dc in each ch-1 space to last st, dc in 3rd ch of beginning ch-4
Rows 7-10: Ch 3, turn, dc in same st, dc in each dc to center space, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in center space, dc in each st to last st, 2 dc in top of beginning ch-3 – 62 dc and 1 center ch-1 space at end of Row 10.

Crocheted Brick Stitch



In this video we're crocheting the Brick Stitch. It's an excellent choice of stitches for blankets, scarves and any project that you prefer a little stretchiness in it.

BRICK STITCH PATTERN
Row 1:  Chain 18
Row 2:  Single crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook, then chain 4 and skip 3 stitches, single crochet in the 4th stitch. Repeat until the end of the row
Row 3:  Chain 3,  make 3 double crochets in the space, then double crochet in the next stitch. Repeat until the end of the row.
Row4:  Chain 2, Single crochet in the first stitch, chain 4  and skip 3 stitches, then single crochet in the next stitch. Repeat until the end of the row.
Row 5:  Chain 3, make 3 double crochets in the space, then FRONT POST DOUBLE CROCHET TWO ROWS BELOW. Repeat until the end of the row.
Repeat rows 4 and 5 until desired length.

Basket Weave Crochet Stitch Video Tutorial





In this crochet tutorial we learn the Basket Weave Crochet Stitch.

BASKET WEAVE STITCH PATTERN
Chain 20 Foundation Chain Stitches
ROW 1:  Chain 3, then Double Crochet in each stitch across
ROW 2:  Chain 3, then *** Front Post Double Crochet in the next 3 stitches, then Back Post Double Crochet in the next 3 stitches*** Then repeat from *** until end of row
ROW 3: Repeat Row 2
ROW 4:  Chain 3  then ***Back Post Double Crochet in the next 3 stitches, then Front Post Double Crochet in the next 3 stitches***. Then repeat *** until the end of the row.
ROWS 5 & 6 : Repeat Row 4.

First Time Teething Ring For Babies -Revised for Absolute Beginners

In this video we make a teething ring that's great for first time teethers! First Time Teething Ring Pattern Size K Crochet Hook Cotton Yarn ***Use two strands of yarn*** Chain 20 stitches then join ROW 1- Chain 1 then 1 single crochet in next stitch, then do 2 single crochets in the next stitch, then do 1single crochet in the next stitch. Continue alternating the single crochets to the end of the row. You'll have 30 stitches. ROW 2- Chain 1 then do 2 single crochets in each stitch around, then join. You'll have 60 stitches. ROW 3- Picot Edging- chain 3 then slip stitch in each stitch around, then join and tie off. I usually wash the teething ring in mild detergent before use. Granny Square Crochet Tutorial for Beginners - The Art of Crochet Project

Granny Square Pattern

Crochet hook size K and acrylic yarn

Chain 4 then join ends forming a ring.

Row 1-Chain 3, make 2 double crochets then chain 3, then make 3 double crochets and chain 3, then make 3 double crochets and chain 3 then make 3 double crochets and chain 3, then join (see video for details)

Row 2-chain 4 then in corner of previous row, make 3 double crochets chain 3 and 3 double crochets, then chain 1. Proceed to next corner of previous row and do the same. At the end of the row, join

Row 3- chain 3 then make 2 double crochets, chain 1, then in corner of previous row make 3 double crochets chain 3 make 3 double crochets, then chain 1. In next open area make 3 double crochets and chain 1.  then in corner of previous row make 3 double crochets chain 3 make 3 double crochets, then chain 1. In next open area make 3 double crochets and chain 1. join and tie off.
